Firefox isn't with useful tool, which is tabs suspender, it saves of much hardware consume and doesn't allow your PC stay slowness and/or your own internet, because tabs can consume internet and recourses in background without you use it, so that's important and should be in all popular browsers including Firefox. I recommend they base on auto tab discard and possibly performance tool (by Microsoft Edge), because auto tab discard extension is really complete and very useful, mainly it saves where you stop on certain time video and performance tool saves much your recourses on your computer and is very efficient:

What I like is a bit different without unloading the site from memory (which makes it just reload when you try to use it again) but stop the CPU usage and stop all other activities of that tab ( WebApps ) Until the tab is unsuspended

I like how I can left a tab open and the tab will stay the way I left, sometimes it needs refreshing, thats terrible when you are without connection or have filled a form. I have 8GB of RAM, and even with the "tab suspender" on Edge, Firefox still works better and don't make my PC slow like chromium does. I hope that if this madness ever comes to Firefox we can still have a choice to disable it. I hate chromium browser for doing this.

Hi all,

On Android (and probably other mobile platforms) you introduced something that you call Inactive Tabs (described here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-tabs-firefox-android#w_inactive-tabs ) which is absolutely great when dealing with a large number of tabs. I experience the same on computer and hiding tabs that were not touched for (e.g.) 2 weeks would be absolutely amazing.

As a bonus, it would be nice if the page/window/tab with the list of inactive tabs could be sorted by "inactive time", "domain" etc.

EDIT: my main idea was not power saving but keeping my browser clean from a visual perspective

Thank you all for reading and considering this,
MJ

For memory management, I suggest that you check that the tabs of an open Firefox page, if it has not been accessed for, for example, five minutes, are frozen from the RAM to be stored on the hard drive, and again, if you visit that page, they are frozen. get out
I suggest you develop this topic further. I could go into more detail about it but I'll keep it short.

Making a tab not use internet bandwidth

Hi, I usually use multiple tabs to work and make content. Sometimes the videos take too much bandwidth and the whole process slows down.

What I had in mind was something like, an option to not close the tab, but not let them load or buffer the video or any content any further. Because simply letting the video tab not load doesn't stop it from doing that after the page has loaded.

Currently, I have to close Firefox completely and then open it again and open to reqired tabs only. This way I save some speed by not loading some tabs. I don't want to close them because I do have to revisit them in sometime.

I hope this has made some sense, I'm not too technical so I have completely avoided the technical terms. I hope this can be worked on.

P.S- Whoever is reading this. Have nice day 🙂

Big tech often forces consumers to replace their hardware, and some Linux-based OSes are trying to replace them. Since Firefox is already pre-installed on many such OSes, it needs to rethink being a rich browser.

Reducing resource consumption will prevent hardware waste and save people from big tech exploitation, and that's where Firefox should focus on.
