Status: New idea

Hi,

I hope this is a good place for my idea. It would be great if Mozilla Team could add two-level tab stacks like in vivaldi. This is a great feature especially for Firefox users who have hundreds of tabs and would like to group them (work, music, projects). I've been using Firefox for years and I like how it's easy to have a lot of tabs and they don't shrink like in e.g. google chrome (terrible!).

I really miss this feature and I hope Mozilla Team will consider this idea and add it to the new version of Firefox.

Hi,

I am the author of this idea. When I posted this I was testing Vivaldi for a short while and I liked the idea of โ€‹โ€‹two-level tabs. I have thousands of tabs so grouping them was a great idea for me. On another forum it was suggested to me to start using available extensions until this solution is implemented in firefox. Currently I am using Simple Tab Group and I think it is even better than the one in Vivaldi. We do not have two levels of tabs, so there are less graphics to distract us and take us away from the content of the websites we are using. I still think that the tab grouping solution should be implemented natively in firefox because the author of the extension may abandon the project or the firefox developers will change the extension system.

It's funny that Simple Group Tab is actually almost exactly the same as the other Vivaldi functionality, namely Workspaces, with some differences, some of which are more convenient in Vivaldi, some in SGT. In Vivaldi you can also group tabs in each Workspace, which I use very actively.

In general, if Firefox developers do not want to group tabs themselves, they could add the ability for extensions to create new Tab Bars and the ability to display or hide tabs on each of them individually. Then it would be very easy to change the behavior of the Tab Grouper extension to behave like in Vivaldi

This is such a great idea Firefox also needs its own history page as well just like the chrome https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/firefox-needs-a-history-page-like-chrome-s/idi-p/91296

Tab Stacking and pages for History Page like Chrome and Customizable Hot Keys.

Firefox needs a major UI redesign its current UI stinks is ugly and is holding the browser back.
