I hope this is a good place for my idea. It would be great if Mozilla Team could add two-level tab stacks like in vivaldi. This is a great feature especially for Firefox users who have hundreds of tabs and would like to group them (work, music, projects). I've been using Firefox for years and I like how it's easy to have a lot of tabs and they don't shrink like in e.g. google chrome (terrible!).

I really miss this feature and I hope Mozilla Team will consider this idea and add it to the new version of Firefox.

Familiar face

This belongs in the "Tab Grouping" thread, but yes, I would love to see Tab Stacks in Firefox.

If not by default, then at least through some kind of extension.

@MintMain21 I would prefer to see this feature by default. The extension may not be supported by the author and there may be problems with making a backup of bookmarks.

Now if we have a lot of tabs and we want to group them somehow, we have to open multiple windows or have several browsers running.

Making moves

Good idea.

I'd prefer this idea to be natively integrated into firefox, but extensions should also be able to manage tabs when arranged in two-levels, like opening and closing tab in different stacks, saving and loading sessions...

I think that the stacks should be treated like "workspaces": tab should never automatically move from one stack to another (the user can move them, if needed). Also the stacks should not change automatically: when I'm viewing a particular stack and open a bookmark that bookmark should be opened in current stack. When I close a tab I should remain in current stack (never be moved to another stack).

I would really love to see stacked tabs in Firefox.

Just switched to Firefox from Vivaldi and the leak of tab management bugs me the most.

- Is it possible to stack the Tabs, so I bave multiple tabs in on stack of the same website? It works fine on Chrome.

- Refreshibg the website by swiping quickly down would be a nice QoL change.

- More Addons are needed. The Desktop version has a way more

- An option to translate a website fron a foreign language to the current language used would be awesome

Tab Stacks (like a sub-tabs?) and another tab feature for qol improvement

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but at least for me, it would have a huge quality of life improvement while browsing.

An option (toggle on or off?) to be able to make newly open tabs as a "stack" that would be presented like a drop down menu from within the same tab with an option to be able to drag it out besides the other tabs.

This would make it that when a tab is hovered over, it would display a drop down list of all the open "sub-tabs" within it, which then you could scroll through and select. I believe this would make it so much easier to browse as oppose to now so that if there are like 50 tabs open, which the tab size would be small enough that the full page name can't be displayed on it and save having to scroll through the entire tab bar to find it.

A good example would be if you're online shopping and would have many tabs open searching and comparing products, everything is displayed under the same tab that you can just see what product page you've opened and seen...

Which brings me to another feature of this, if Firefox detect that the same Page is open, it would match them with a slight highlight (different colors for different matches) so the user can address the duplication if needed.

I hope this made some sense. I've looked and the closest thing to this is "tab tree" but that still opens up a new page or makes a sidebar.

Thanks for taking the time and reading through this.

Team Mozilla Firefox,

Good-day & Greetings!

Though 'Mozilla Firefox' is indeed a very good & leading browser. Thanks & highly appreciate your work on this.
I want this to have few very important & competitive features & continue leading all the others in the market .

Hence, I suggest to look at 'Vivaldi Browser' ( & specially it's feature of '2 level Tab Stacking' ( which is most useful feature.

& also 'Arc Browser' (from The Browser Company, New York/ & specially it's feature of 'having folders for pinned tabs' (

We can also incorporate that as well to make 'Mozilla Firefox' more feature rich.

I would like a second tab list directly below the first parallel to it as I have filled up the first and when I open a new tab there is only a tiny amount of room for it making it difficult to click especially when I open more than one and have to click the arrows to move them over, it also means the close tab x is not visible or clickable, I have to right click and select close tab, sometimes it closes the wrong tab.

This sounds similar to this request: Firefox Adding a two-level tab stacks like in Vivaldi

If so, let me know and we can merge the two threads together to keep the conversation focused in one place.

Multi row tabs (like paxmod)

Paxmod is an extension (Works with quantum) that lets you have multi row tabs. See the paxmod link for a demo, and see the attachments for a customized version made to look like native Firefox.
