Idea: Add DNS-over-HTTPS support for the Android version of Firefox

Reasoning: Google Chrome for Android already supports this, as does the Windows, MacOS, and GNU/Linux version of Firefox. This can be used to make the mobile browsing experience more private/secure.

Surprised I stumbled upon this and it's 8 months already in vain. Definitely needed option.

They are not in any rush since it can let them look at the site you visit...

Hi

Actually, this functionality now exists. I'm using it.

You have to enable it via about:config

They need to make it more user friendly in settings somewhere.

Might make the interface too confusing for people who don't care. Also may not be worth the work.

People who really want this feature, may still be able to find it by searching the web.

There is also the debate as to whether this feature should exist at all.

Maybe an addon can be made that configures this in about:config for the users that really need it (although i'm not sure if this can really be made).

Anyway, the part that matters for me, is that it does exist and i can now use it, even if it's not that user friendly.

From the look and feel it is very good 👍.

Firefox 114 on desktop makes this visible in the setting. But it's still missing in the Android version.

一个直观的图形界面用来配置它是很有必要的,桌面端的Firefox完善了这一部分,在移动端使之易于配置也是很有必要的。

It is necessary to have an intuitive graphical interface for configuring it, and Firefox on the desktop has improved this part, making it easy to configure on the mobile end is also necessary.

Please! Chrome supports this but firefox doesn't. I'd much prefer to use firefox with this feature

about:config page is only available for Firefox Android Beta and Firefox Android Nightly.

Hence, about:config method cannot be used on regular Firefox Android app.

Please include this secure dns feature officially in the Settings UI.
