Idea: Add DNS-over-HTTPS support for the Android version of Firefox

Reasoning: Google Chrome for Android already supports this, as does the Windows, MacOS, and GNU/Linux version of Firefox. This can be used to make the mobile browsing experience more private/secure.

I urgently support this idea and want it be implemented in Firefox mobile. Chrome and other chrome based ones (Brave, Edge) have already implemented DoH, why mobile firefox not??

 It should be nice but it's useless if firefox doesn't support doh in your country like me in the netherlands.

There still are no DNS settings for firefox mobile. Very much needed considering Android's design philosophy.

This needs to be added quicker, I don't know why this is still in "new idea". Please firefox devs take note on this!

Android already supports DNS over TLS and HTTPS. Just set the server you'd like in Android settings, and Firefox will use that server.

Android already supports DNS over TLS and HTTPS. Set your preferred server in Android’s settings, and Firefox will use that server. 1.1.1.1/help tells me I am using DoH.

@ben75where then?

Android Settings app, Connections, More Connection Settings, Private DNS. It may vary based on your Android version and phone manufacturer. Currently, Android supports DoH only for dns.google and cloudflare-dns.com. All other servers will use DoT only.
