Colored entry in Thunderbird calendar

I understand that Categories can have entries on the same old boring green background with a thin colored flag on the right.
However, it would be much better marked and clearer to make this flag expandable for the whole field.
Imagine a project that runs over several days and has the same colored field according to its category. How clear could that be?
