Bring back PWA (progressive web apps)

Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

This will also boost web developers' reach and ease of development. Please implement this and don't Chrome and Safari take all webdev's marketshare, Mozilla devs 😣😣

An alternative approach would be to consider a 'HIDE UI' shortcut - as I enjoyed with Vivaldi, which would completely remove the UI (e.g. Tabs still exist, but are hidden... URL bar is hidden, but still accessible via Ctrl_L).

Apple brings PWA-support to Safari on MacOS this year. Leaving Firefox the only major-browser that does not support it.

Please go back to developing the "Site Specific Browser" (SSB). A very popular feature. Very often you have to put shortcuts to websites on the desktop. For Chromium browsers, creating shortcuts to websites, creating applications from websites is much more convenient. This functionality is very lacking in Firefox.
And since I don't use Chromium browsers in principle, I'm really looking forward to the appearance of this functionality in my favorite Firefox browser.

I work in a corporation, the functionality of creating an application from a website is very much in demand!

I tried to switch to Firefox over the last week, but not being able to install PWAs as apps in my task bar on both Windows and Ubuntu has ultimately sent me back to Chromium-based browsers. Please bring this feature back.

I would like to add to this. I am a sliver away from being able to stop using all Chromium based browsers. It would be fantastic if I could launch the numerous PWAs I have been able to add to my Start Menu in a Firefox browser rather than Edge.

Please bring back PWA/SSB website integration into Firefox, because it is quite useful as over 1000 comments attest the fact. It is quite galling to not be able to when Edge and Chrome/Chromium based browsers have had this feature for forever and this does put people off using Firefox, like the SteamDeck which only uses Chrome just proves. So please guys, start using your brains here and do something about this or watch people turn away to Firefoxes Competitors.

Thank you everyone for protesting this inability of the Firefox team to do a smart, logical, and sensible thing. Hope this makes an effect on the Firefox team.

I have given up on Mozilla/Firefox at this point and moved to Vivaldi. It almost feels like they are intentionally trying to lose market-share by not implementing useful features.

 I would say pwa is a unnecessary feature because you can just use the website in the browser.

@Jeppie no pwa is far more versatile. You can make a website to open and not being tied to anything. It can open with its own window's size, position, etc. Its window won't be trigger by links from other applications. And it could start at startup in a separately from the browsing environment. For example, I like to use pwa to work in tiles for different comms applications.
