Bring back PWA (progressive web apps)

Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

This feature is a must in this day and age. I'm fine with opening things in a tab in my current workflow, but honestly if there are browser options out there that let me give a website its own window, which I find more convenient, then I'd rather use that over just a tab. I really hope the people over there at Mozilla take this "idea" seriously!

PWA is a must-have, use them daily and had to install a third party add on to be able to use them.

I have always desired this. I think mozilla even planned this a long time ago. It would be nice to have. Most other browsers already do this. I wonder what stopped mozilla from doing this a long time ago when this idea was first gaining a lot of traction across the ecosystem.

PWAs are the way forward to open up the Internet again instead of transforming the web into apps with closed standards. Firefox should support this on mobile and desktop. It also may free up the path to more alternative mobile OSs since you then only need a browser to install e.g. Twitter/Mastodon or the many other PWA supported websites/services. It's strange to see Firefox holding this back, but Google is pushing it.

Microsoft teams has dropped support for their linux desktop app in favor of a PWA. Some people depend on teams for their job, so this is becoming more and more important of a feature https://news.itsfoss.com/microsoft-linux-app-retire/

I never thought in my life that Firefox would be the browser to hold back web-developer.

It always seemed like safari, and IE were gonna stay the only concerns for developers until they finally die off.

but now Firefox is one of the few browsers which cannot use revolutionary features like PWAs, that even safari is starting to support.

PWAs allowed Javascript to use native features without being a security concern, without hogging resources like electron apps, and while staying clear and concise.

It's an important feature, and will make a lot of people consider developing apps that integrate better with Firefox, which in turn will make switching to Firefox, and staying on it easier.

Install web pages as applications

It is time for Firefox to have the option to install web pages as applications, and all other browsers have that function and it is really necessary to be able to do it with Firefox

Please bring back this feature. Stuck with chromium based browsers just for this..

Firefox lacking this feature is the only reason I don't have Firefox set as my default browser and, as a result, rarely ever use it.  It's THAT useful of a feature and is very CONSPICUOUSLY LACKING.  I really hope Mozilla gets with the program here before they end up going extinct.  The more people learn about this and start using it in Chromium browsers, the harder it's going to be to win people back. 

This is maybe the 4th time in my life I've ever bothered with this kind of post, THAT'S HOW BAD THIS IS Mozilla!  PLEASE!?!?
