Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

The latest for the necessity of PWA in FF is the deprecation of Microsoft Teams' Electron App in favour of a PWA.

Several sources:

Pwa apps are a necessary feature for modern browsers and most of them support it. This will become more clear when apps switch to pwa completely like what will Microsoft do with the Microsoft Teams' Electron App for linux.

This is a necessity. I run a majority of apps as pwa, on both pc and mobile. BUT at the moment i have to use Brave for this since it works. To have FF natively support this would give me the possibility to ditch Brave altogether.

Please implement PWA.

This has to be top priority for Mozilla.

Teams for Linux might be a deal breaker for me and many other users, and it needs PWA. I really want to keep using Firefox but I use teams everyday and it seems like I'll have to run it on a different browser.

PWA is the only reason why I use Chrome.

Firefox dying cause of this

+1 I'm using Excalidraw and YouTube Music in their own windows and it's a lot cleaner mental model, than just having them as tabs/windows of the same browser app.

I'd love to see Slack, Whatsapp, GitHub, Notion as separate apps, while sharing the latest, most secure browser engine underneath, instead of a 1+ GB of Electron apps...

Yeah this would be amazing. Bring back PWA so i can finally ditch Brave which i have to use for all my pwa needs on desktop, tablet and phone.

Can we get an update on whether this feature is being worked on? I'd like to be able to support PWAs in Firefox.
