Android TBird Improvement: more easily discern emails “marked” to be deleted vs. those already read.

It seems to me, Android-TBird could improve its presentation of emails, per the subject, to allow users to more easily discern one (delete vs. read) from the other.  The “gray” shading under certain light and/or screen conditions does not clearly distinguish one vs. the other.

The two shades of gray, in my opinion are chromatically too close.
