Currently firefox for android only allows syncing bookmarks between devices using firefox sync. There is no option to import them from or export them to an html file. The desktop version allows this.

The problem is that not everyone wants to sync bookmarks. I just want to backup them locally when switching custom ROMs and firefox doesn't allow this. Also, this would make switching to firefox easier for people as they can import bookmarks from other browsers.

It would be great if Firefox add this on android and maybe on iOS too if it's possible there.

A solution:
1. open firefox bookmark menu.
2. Select all bookmarks by long press on one, then press on toolbar menu (triple dots) -> "select all"
3. Toolbar menu (triple dots) -> share -> by email, note, cloud app etc...

Importing bookmarks via bookmarks.html has been a core feature in web browsers for about three decades. It is technically a very simple, trivial feature to implement. Mozilla obviously has the code to do this in the desktop version ever since it inherited code from Netscape Navigator. Every Chromium-based browser can import and export bookmarks this way.

What on earth is preventing Mozilla to make this available on Firefox Mobile? What can we do to make this happen? Name your price! 100$? 1000$? 10000$?Greenland? Make Firefox Great Again!

I created an account to post this idea but I see someone already did it multiple years ago. What is preventing mozilla from implement this ? This is a big problem that blocks people from going from chrome/brave to Firefox...

The non tech-savy people (or the people that don't want to sync their bookmarks) are interested to test Firefox when I talk about it. But when they ask me if they can transfer their bookmarks, I lost the interest of everyone...
