Stop reordering my tabs!

Osplo

Firefox 137 messes the order of my tabs. It puts the most recently used to the right... I DO NOT NEED OR WANT THIS. Please let me switch this behavior off!

Thanks

This is happening to me, too, and I also cannot find a setting to turn it off. Even worse, it doesn't seem to happen every time, and I can't figure out why. Please allow us to turn this off! It has messed with my entire flow.

I've been getting this as well. Very annoying when suddenly you can't find the tab you need

This is a huge backwards step!  I want some way to turn this off.  It's driving me crazy.

I have just created this account for the sole purpose of reporting this issue.

This AB experiment drives me crazy and messes up the workflow i'm adjusted to. Please make this stop!!!!!

Macos 15.4.1

Firefox version: 137.0.2 (aarch64)

This behaviour wasn't present until about 15:00 UTC today, 28.04.2024. This is very noticable and very annoying. How can I make it stop again?

Same version of firefox/OS

P.S. I just noticed, that even tabs in the same tab-group will get evicted from it and move to the rightmost position. So in this case, such behaviour seems more like a bug

The issue seems to be fixed in 138.0.1 (at least I haven't encountered it ever since updating)

I do encounter this issue as well. Quick fix at least for me is to exit fullscreen mode. For some reason it keeps reording tabs only in full screen mode.

Even more: if I would exit fullscreen mode and then go back it doesn't reorder my tabs anymore.

I've got the same problem. It shouldn't need a workaround. It needs to be fixed. I'm surprised none of the devs at Mozilla have bothered to respond about this. It's been an issue for 2 months now!

I'm on version 139.0.1 (64 Bit) and also experiencing this problem. Extremely frustrating when I'm swapping back and forth between tabs and suddenly one randomly blips to the end of the open tabs.

I think I may have found a potential fix because the issue hasn't happened again since.

Go into windows mouse settings and turn off "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them"

I'm not completely sure if it has fixed the problem. Just that it used to happen a few times daily and hasn't happened since. I'll update this if it happens again.

It didn't solve my problem. I still get tabs jumping to the end all on their own.

Why is there no update, i switched to edge for this, looks like i might stay at edge untill fixed over at forefox. It was driving me nuts.
