WebHID API Support, please!

Ladies, Gentlemen,

I'd like to see WebHID API support in Firefox, as is already present in some competing browser families. See CanIUse on this. Obviously, the MDN is aware of this API, and even provides documentation thereof.

Is there any chance, that this gets implemented anytime soon, maybe as an experimental feature?

Agree. I have to download Chromium just to change my keyboard settings, that's awful

Seems still no progress from the Firefox side, so I added a feature request to implement this in the Floorp (Firefox fork) - https://github.com/Floorp-Projects/Floorp/discussions/2428 - let's upvote!

With the recent addition of WebSerial in Firefox 151 the possibility of WebHID feels more realistic than ever. My use case for it is both for keyboard configuration, and for interacting with other unusual pieces of hardware like StepManiaX stages.
