Here's an interesting Opera feature:

"Lucid mode in Opera browser

The problem with most old videos are the resolution they were shot in, the lower it gets, the blurrier the image looks. Opera aims to address this by adding a CSS sharpening filter to videos and images on web pages. This feature is driven by hardware acceleration, handled by your computer's GPU."

Looks like it's early days yet, and seems hit and miss.

Maybe something to look at in future?

I would appreciate having something like Opera Lucid mode.

I would appreciate it if you could add something similar to Lucid Mode in Opera, or support for custom css filters for Mozilla. I realize that RTX video super resolution is currently available, but it looks soapy, and doesn't work on native video resolutions (like 1080p on a 1080 screen) - whereas Lucid Mode makes the picture sharper and more pleasing. Plus, it requires an RTX series graphics card to work, which is not a hardware limitation, but a software one.
