Honestly, I'm a bit tired of Firefox. But don't want to be.
More and more online video is used. Look at all the questions and remarks about Video.

You leave us Linux Desktop users no other option than to install Chromium or fall back on Android Apps, Chromecast, or Apple TV.

There is no way to replace Google or Apple stuff with Linux with Firefox.

Please help us out we need you!

I'd used Chrome or one or its derivatives for years until a few months ago (it was Firefox 3.x before that) but often had to switch to Firefox to watch on-line videos on sites other than YouTube.

As a test I've just tried to play a Channel Five programme on Chrome that I watched fine yesterday on Firefox and got nowhere.

Part of the trouble with Linux is that it's such a broad church that testing on every variation would be nigh on impossible.  There also seems to be differences in what official repositories do to software.

I've always found Firefox straight from Mozilla to out-perform the versions from the Debian repositories.  Between Google dropping 32-bit Chrome and my changing to 64-bit I  got the versions of Chromium meant for Ubuntu as they too worked better than the official Debian ones.

You probably are right with "Part of the trouble with Linux is that it's such a broad church".

Therefore, Firefox should take the lead and define a Linux video platform and work together on that with the Pi foundation, Debian and Canonical, for example.

I can not figure out what this post is supposed to be about. Firefox's media support or something linux related? Would be nice if the author make it easier to understand.
