I was very happy after the latest update to see I could translate directly in Firefox, as I prefer not to use google. That happiness disappeared in 3 seconds, however, when I realised I couldn't do translations to and from Hebrew. I do plenty of studies in Afrkaans and English and sometimes use Hebrew text as my basis. I honestly hope this can be brought in sooner rather than later, and then we must look at Afrikaans as well.
Under the settings for translation you can't include or exclude languages that you want to "never translate" or translate. Mac OS Big Sur 11.7.7 Firefox 118.0.2 64-bit
Given the amount of high tech development coming out of Israel, I believe supporting the translation of webpages from Hebrew to English is an obvious choice. How many votes does it take to make this happen?
@snoopy there are many potential ways you could help, depending on your skills. We are working on a document to list the possibilities, ranging from things to do without technical skills to things to do with deep programming skills.
In the meantime, feel free to join the "Firefox Translations" room on Matrix.
