Dear Thunderbird Team.
Just recently I wanted to send a mail to an e-mail-adress containing the German Umlaut "ü".
After touching the sending-button it shows: Failed to send the message.
If the domain-string right of the @ contains an Umlaut (ÄÖÜäöüß) the string has to be converted in a ACE string (punycode, starting with xn--), see IDN (internationalized domain name).
In IPhone-Mail-App or MS-Outlook it was converted automatically.
For Thunderbird I have to convert it with the IDN-Web-Converter from denic.de and copy the string result to Thunderbird [To:].
It would be fine if Thunderbird would also change it automatically (also backwards when receiving email-addresses with ä,ö,ü,...) .
Thanks for your great work.
