When we have many tabs opened, it's possible the same url has been duplicated in our tabs.

We would like to close Duplicate open tabs by right clicking any tab and selecting Close Multiple Tabs > a new "Close Duplicate Open Tabs" option which would leave only one instance of the URL open in the browser.

If this is delivered, where can I find it?

@barbaraross it should be an option in the tab context menu when you right-click a tab. There's some more info here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-tab-context-menu-firefox-78

I just discovered this feature and tested it. I noticed that it excluded pinned tabs.

In my test, I have a self-hosted dashboard page ( think Homarr, Dashy, HomePage, etc) with links to and statistics for my self-hosted service and other web sites. I use this page so often that I keep it pinned.

However, sometime I forget about it or don't notice it in the sea of tabs since I pin tabs for other reasons as well.

It would be great if the close duplicate tags also took pinned tabs into account. it would be even better if there was a prompt when you first open a duplicate tab - "You already have a tab with this URL open, would you like to switch to that tab or open a duplicate?"

That would make the user aware of the tab, and let them switch to it instead of opening a duplicate.
