Hi,

Love the application.

I would suggest programming in a opening or splash screen.

When I select Thunderbird from my Windows desktop, there is a long delay before anything happens and I'm left wondering if the application is running or whether I need to select it again.

What is a long delay?  I have a profile with only two accounts in it and it loads almost instantly from my SSD drive.  I also have a profile with 20 something accounts including many RSS feeds and it can take much longer to load,  but it is also a profile of 50 odd gigabytes in size.  I certainly do not want a splash screen,  if anything I would like to see those resources devoted to making the load faster!
