When using Firefox, there is a 'simplified' format available when printing a web page.  I find this facility useful.

For some reason, however, the content field of any <meta> tag with name="author" in the HTML of the page is included in the 'simplified' output.  As this text does not appear when the page is normally rendered, this is unexpected and unwelcome.

I think such meta tag content text should be excluded from 'simplified' printing.

Hi John, just for background, the "Simplified" print layout usually mirrors the "Reader View" of the page that you get by clicking the document icon toward the right end of the address bar. But perhaps it shouldn't follow all of the same cues.
