side bar with my personnal bar shortcuts instead of my opened tabs

Hello there, I saw this morning the new side bar option that allows to put the opened tabs on the side.... I tried, but I don't like it. I know it's personnal and subjective. But on the other hand I would LOVE to be able to put all my shortcuts from my personnal bar of bookmarked pages on the side on this vertical bar instead of the line at the top. I've tried to activate the bookmarks on the side bar but you have to navigate thru its menu to access the personnal bar list instead of just having the shortcuts always visible on the side...
