When events are spanning over multiple days, the calendar shows them as individual entries for each day. This makes it harder to see at a glance when that event is starting and ending if other events are present in the same range.

Many other calendars show them as a single, connected entry and I only see advantages of this.

Making moves

That would be really appreciated if implemented.

I vote for this feature !

For me, the #1 between all features to implement in Thunderbird.

It looked so good back in 2022 in the preview for the new supernova calendar design (https://blog.thunderbird.net/2022/11/thunderbird-supernova-preview-the-new-calendar-design/). Seems some of those UI improvements mentioned there never made it unfortunately.

Calendar - multiple day events - show as single event

v.128.  Create a calendar event that spans multiple days in a row.  The single multiple day event is shown as individual units on each day.  Instead, have a single banner span the days.  Below is how it shows now, the fix would show one single bar spanning the 12th to the 15th with no break because its a single event.

Yes, I've been craving for this functionality for years! There used to be a plugin for it, but not compatible with the newer versions.

I agree, because when an event is long-term (a campaign for example), it takes a lot of space each day, making it harder to see all other events during that event.

This would be awesome

Hello

This would be really nice. When I have to plan overlapping periods of ideas it would be very helful to see it in overview. It schould have triangels or rounded edges on the beginning and end of the Event.

I really wonder why this hasn't more votes, as the much cleaner banner style display is the standard in every other calender app...

How many votes does this need to be considered? While not a vital feature, it shouldn't be too hard to implement, and it would make the UI look so more much nicer.

I'd love to know when this gets implemented either in an update or an add-on. I use Thunderbird to print a monthly calendar, because it is the only free program I've found that wraps text in each day's box rather than cutting it off. If only it listed multi-day events once across the time period rather than duplicating it each day, Thunderbird would be exactly what I need!
