Firefox has reading list in IOS version but not in desktop version so where the reading list goes when I sync my devices ?, please add reading list to desktop version to access offline to websites without using pocket, like chrome 😐
I just moved to Firefox from Chrome, and the lack of a reading list might end up being a dealbreaker for me. It was one of the first features I tried to interact with after changing browsers, and immediately landed at a page saying Pocket was shutting down.
Using Chrome's reading list allows me to actually be productive: I can shovel all the links I want to get back to into a pile, and know they'll be there when I have time for them or realize I'm never really going to make time, and can delete them guilt free. Without the reading list, I have to leave tabs open, get distracted, delay watching things until I lose them, etc.. It doesn't work. And plain old bookmarks doesn't replace a few-click save-for-later-until-I-dismiss.
The ease of using and clearing out the reading list is key. Bookmarks are no replacement.
Now that Pocket is dead, syncing the Reading List on Firefox iOS app the Desktop app is a must-have.
The best workaround I have is to maintain a Bookmarks folder for a reading list. But, that’s clunky and doesn’t work when I’m offline. (Firefox’s Reading List should also save pages offline, in case it doesn’t already.)
I used Pocket for years and I read about its shutdown. So please implement reading lists since I'm currently using other browsers to manage links for later reading.
Same reason I'm here: Pocket got discontinued. And I don't feel like moving to desktop addons (I'm on macOS) + mobile apps (I'm on Android) like Instapaper or Raindrop. I really want a native solution from Mozilla / Firefox to get my reading list sync across devices, featuring offline reader view of course (clean reading mode, means it's stripped of everything that's not the content to be read).
