Proper filter for history search

Is there a proper way to browser history I don't seem to find one, history is categorised as today, yesterday and monthly and so on. Why isn't it linear and can it have custom date range. Usually I like to know what websites I was searching on particular time(ex: what was the name of the website I used for generating favicons last year (which i remember were to be a saturday))

HELLO WORLD ! YES THIS ^ would be very nice indeed, I recently accidentally deleted my youtube playlist (created in september) and the only way to rebuild it, is by searching my browsing history, but it's not very intuitive because I cannot filter the timeline in the search tab, when I search "youtube" even if I'm on the september tab, it will give me results for the WHOLE history, even though I made my playlist in september.. It would really help narrow it down !) Please add this feature, I couldn't even find a proper extension for my particular case, they are all mostly made to help delete history and not recover it with useful filters.. THANK YOU !)
