Possibility to not show message threads at all.

With the last update, message threads got introduced. 

I can turn them off per folder, but I would like to turn the option off in its entirety. No message threads.

There is no option for that right now. Could you please add one? More users are struggling with this.

Threading is now the default.  It is driving me crazy because I have to "unthread" each folder individually.  Please give us a way to unthread all folders.  Many requests for this on internet.

Absolutely this change is the worst ever for managing multiple responses and replies to mail to different people in our groups. OFF switch for all mail is essential IMHO.

Upgrading Thunderbird wipes out the non-threading settings on all my folders. 

It is really annoying to have to create an enhancement request for what is clearly a bug.

I agree--it's not even clear how to turn them off in a folder. Bad idea to make a new thing like threads the default--better to let us opt in.

Definitely should be opt-out as default, which would maintain operational procedure with previous versions.

I have countless--hundreds maybe?--email folders). They were arranged the way I wanted them, viewable by date. Now every single folder has threaded messages. I seriously do not appreciate this change, and I do not have time to unthread folder by folder. What arrogance of the programmers to decide what users should want and change our settings unilaterally! I have been a Thunderbird user for as long as Thunderbird has existed, but my commitment is rapidly eroding.

And BTW, rewarding users of this forum with "badges" is puerile.

After living through the pain finding out know-how and to unthreading hundreds of folders, which function I never use and never wanted, it was really nerve wrecking... and I still find folders threaded.

The base idea is great to have the option, but definitely not as default. I have a serious folder-structure I maintain and gotten used to in order to sort my emails logically. Please pleeeeease at least add the option "Apply to all folders" regardless and have it non-volatile.

Threading default in Thunderbird is a nightmare. Same thing for the columns. No way to understand the underlying logic.

First, when some default (colums/views) is applied to the root, it should propagate to all subfolders.

Second, there is no way to define global default.  Please define a global default for columns|views in Tools|Settings|Composition  (it's a "composition" of messages, isn't it) ???

Third, add to the left-clic menu in the message windows which says:

* Apply global defauts to folder and its children

* Apply current columns|views to folder and its children

Please, STOP to open submenus and apply from the hierarchy where I decide to apply the message colums|view composition
