With the version Firefox 109 release, you added this new button without the option to change its position or move into the overflow area. Please let use move it. I can remove/hide almost every other UI element in the browser, why not this?
If we wanted a Chrome-like attitude to users, we would be better off using Chrome. The Firefox UI is becoming a cluttered mess like Chrome and now they are removing our tools to clean it up easily.
I use an extension which enables a tab-closing X button that I place in the right-most corner of the bar. The Extensions icon now takes the right-most spot and slows my workflow by forcing me to hunt for the tab close button that, for years, has always been in the same place in Firefox for me.
The Extensions button adds no value for me, I don't configure Extensions more than perhaps 1-2 times a year, at most. It's wasted space and hard-coded to be placed in an inconvenient spot for my habits and workflow.
My preference is to remove the Extensions icon, or at least make its position adjustable. The browser is suddenly feeling much less my own.
With 113 I now can only move the extensions button to the left of the overflow menu. It cannot be moved to the overflow menu or be disabled. This change seems designed to placate more than resolve anything. This icon is useless to me. I cannot reorder the extensions the way I use them like I already can on the overflow menu. It is redundant and a distraction. So what is the point?
If developers remove that stupid "Extensions button", I'll donate to Mozilla. ))
please at least be consistent - either allow us to delete, piss over and burn that stupid button out of the GUI, or get rid of the customization altogether, either way will help you not to look like a massive hole left after eared relative of horse.
Has there been any word of modifications in upcoming builds?
So I am now able to move the puzzle piece out of the spot where my bookmarks icon should be. That's an improvement. However, I would like to not see it at all because I do not have any extensions. Is removing it all together in the works?
Please remove the extension icon from the toolbar, it's a security flow for company andenterprise environment.
The extension icon is currently not being able to remove from the toolbar. The reasons I'm use Firefox only for two reasaons: open-source and clean interface. Can you make it possible to remove the extension icon from the toolbar?
I support this 100%. I don't understand why the developers are so obsessed with shutting down any customisation of this button.
