With the version Firefox 109 release, you added this new button without the option to change its position or move into the overflow area. Please let use move it. I can remove/hide almost every other UI element in the browser, why not this?
I read through the most of the responses to this question about why the button can't be hidden and frankly the following works both ways for people who do different things in different ways.
Don't shoot the messenger here I am just telling briefly what I did not to lose it but to get it out of the way, maybe that'll work for some people, obviously depends on your setup.
So anyway I added four spaces in front of the button. It pushed it off to the side where I can pretty much forget about it and certainly not hit it by mistake is many times that I have in the past. Also the hamburger has to stay where it is apparently that cannot be moved.
Try using the Floorp browser this gives this option to hide the Unified Extensions Button, simply go into the Customise Toolbar Settings and at the bottom of the window you will see have the option to hide/unhide this button via the check box.
My Floorp browser is installed on macOS Sequoia, butnthis option should be there in all Floorp browser versions.
I want to address a significant concern regarding the extension toolbar in Firefox Nightly 134.0a1. As a long-time user, I am increasingly frustrated with how the toolbar has become cluttered and unwieldy. The growing number of extension buttons has transformed what was once a streamlined and efficient browsing experience into a chaotic interface that detracts from productivity.
Every time I install a new extension, it adds another button to the toolbar, making it increasingly difficult to navigate. The result is a disorganized and visually overwhelming experience. The once intuitive design now feels more like an obstacle than a tool, undermining the very essence of what makes Firefox appealing.
It is disappointing to see a browser I have supported for years become so cumbersome. I no longer find joy in using Firefox, as the clutter of extension buttons has made it difficult to focus on my tasks. The toolbar has become a distraction rather than an aid, and this change in user experience is deeply concerning.
I believe that extensions should enhance usability, not complicate it. I often wish for a simple feature that allows users to hide or remove extension buttons without needing to disable the extensions entirely. Such functionality would provide much-needed control and help restore a sense of order to the browsing experience.
The lack of options to manage these extension buttons feels like a significant oversight. Users deserve the ability to customize their interface according to their preferences and needs. This is not just a minor inconvenience; it impacts the overall effectiveness and satisfaction of using Firefox. I urge the development team to consider implementing a solution that allows for better management of the extension toolbar.
I appreciate the hard work that goes into maintaining and improving Firefox, but addressing this issue is crucial for retaining user loyalty and satisfaction. I hope to see a more user-friendly approach to toolbar management in future updates.
