With the version Firefox 109 release, you added this new button without the option to change its position or move into the overflow area. Please let use move it. I can remove/hide almost every other UI element in the browser, why not this?

So, after almost two decades - Good bye, Firefox

After 30+ years using Netscape, Phonex and Firefox, this single change has got m,e looking at other browsers for the first time. As a temporary workaround I've pinned my verfsions at 110 (annoying pop-up in Windows included, YaST in Tumbleweed makes it much easier to blacklist any update) and won't be upgrading. I looked at pulling the currrent source and trying to "fix" it myself by just removing the diff's associated with the extensions thing, but I'm not a good enough coder to do that unfortunately. Anyway, much as I dislike the chromium based browsers, it looks like I'll be heading there if the FF devs don't see the light of day and at least return the option to disable this poorly recieved, poorly implimented and poorly designed mandatory interface element.

Since femoving unwanted features almost never happens, my vote would be to reinstate this solution: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1403154 and add an option in settings to make it easy to set. Then run a telemetary survey after a few months to see how many users keep the extensions icon and how many don't. Of course, the default option (on/off) will need to be varied so as to correct for the "I ever tweak anything" crowd, 'cause the deault setting will be the winner, independent of whether people like this or not.

Waterfox (G5.1.3) has been working fine, and doesn't have this change.  The Overflow Menu still functions as before as well.  So that's still an option as opposed to falling into the Chromium trap.

The major extension I've had trouble with on Waterfox, which still works in Firefox, is Video DownloadHelper.  Seems to be adequately functional other than that.

Not looked at WF for a few years. Will revisit.

I don't need *every* extension in the menu. I had just the ones I wanted in the overflow menu. Now that's screwed up and Firefox is much less usable. Please either go back to the overflow menu or give us the option to decide how we want it set up.

I downgraded to 110 then changed the "channel-prefs.js" file from "release" to "default" to shut off future updates. Until they deal with this issue, I'm sticking with v110. If they never deal with it, hello Brave.

I do not have ANY extensions, so this new button hurts my OCD. Every time I look at it, I am reminded of the selfishness of Mozilla because surely this is deliberate. Will that make me switch to the Trojan browser called Chrome? Not necessarily. But if it bothers me enough over time, I may have to find an alternative. I say this as someone who has used Firefox from its inception nearly two decades back.

Mozilla, listen to your faithful users. They keep your afloat.

Using  the CSS hack only gets rid of the Extension Icon.  We still don't have a solution to restore the Overflow Menu functionality.

I still think if the Firefox devs really think there should be an icon for an Extensions Manager, they should have just pinned it to the top of the existing Overflow Menu, and left the functionality of the Overflow Menu as it was (being able to move your toolbar icons there).  It would only expand out the Extensions list if you specifically clicked on the icon within Overflow Menu, otherwise not.

Do you have a Chrome insider working for Mozilla deliberately trying to frustrate and hijack users over to Chrome?  Sometimes seems that way.  Find out who he/they is/are and give them the axe.
