Sometimes, we save the updated password in Firefox before it has been updated successfully in the site. Now we have lost the original password and the new one is useless. I have been bitten with this and eventually rode me to switch to Bitwarden. Having that option plus passkeys support on Firefox means I can ditch Bitwarden completely.
Currently, Firefox shows the history of when the password was changed. We don't even need to keep the password history indefinitely. Keeping it for 10–15 minutes would do the trick.
