Sometimes on Firefox desktop I drag URLs from the address bar or from webpages to the bookmarks bar to quickly add a bookmark in the desired folder / position. It would be useful if after adding a bookmark this way, Firefox displayed the bookmarks editor to allow changing the name (because sometimes the default page title is too long or not descriptive enough), just like when a bookmark is added by clicking the icon on the address bar or via Ctrl+D. Opera browser has this behavior and I find it extremely useful, but I would suggest adding an option to enable or disable this because some users might prefer the current behavior since it’s also the default on Chrome, Edge and other browsers.

Perhpaps if you simply click the star icon on the right of the link it appear Add bookmark and you'll be able to edit it fastly so it's not so hard to do, I think that it's enough that way. Of course under the bookmark bar you can choose the directory.

I have a similar request. I always drag tabs to the bookmarks menu. At that time, I find it cumbersome to open the menu and change the title of the bookmark every time because it is too long.

This feature would help a lot! I always drag the URL because it's more natural to me and the Bookmarks menu is cumbersome compared to a simple drag-and-drop. I tried looking into making it myself but there's no API for it 😕

I'm also looking for this feature; I've a lot of bookmark folders and drag&drop url directly in the right position, is the best way to keep bookmarks organized and in the right order.
