Some extensions "request" onerous permissions. User ought be able to revoke any permission. Currently only "optional permissions" can be revoked. Unacceptable.
For example:
Mechanism ought not be detectable by extension. Extension ought believe it has access to any open tab (list) and be provided dummy non-null information. An extension that does not manage tabs has no actual licit need to collect tab information.
Sure, don't install an extension whose permissions you disagree. Or install whatever you like AND retain control entirely.
