Currently, Firefox displays a media playback UI/overlay on Windows (such as in the taskbar/thumbnail preview), showing track info and playback controls. Disabling it also disables media control.

Suggestion: Provide an option to completely hide/disable this media display interface, while retaining full functionality of hardware media keys (Play, Pause, Next, Previous track) on the keyboard.

Why this is useful:

  • Cleaner UI: Removes unnecessary visual clutter from the Windows taskbar and previews for users who prefer a minimalist setup.

  • Seamless background control: Allows users to control audio playback in Firefox using standard hardware media keys without needing to switch to or open the browser window, and without interacting with an unwanted on-screen overlay.
