Open the existing Reply directly from the original incoming message header

When I reply to an eMail, a little arrow appears in the header line of the eMail list to indicate I've replied to that incoming eMail. I'd like to see that arrow be a link (button) to open that reply directly without having to go into the "Sent" folder and search for the reply.

Have you tried right clicking the list entry and selecting open > Open message in conversation?

Indeed, I have done so. However, the "conversation" is long and the message that's selected is the one to which I replied. My reply is not necessarily the next in the conversation so I'm still searching through the (many) eMails (and replies) until I find the right one.

Apple Mail already has this feature nailed (without requiring one to first open the message in a conversation and search through that conversation. Don't know why TBird can't do this easily.

Indeed, I have done so. However, the conversation often consists of many messages and the selected message in the conversation isn't necessarily next to the reply; so I'm still searching for my reply.

Arrow Answer

My Idea in attachment. 

Would it be possible to envisage, that by clicking on the arrow corresponding to an answer, you could access the message directly?

It would be great and so practical to find the corresponding message.

Because with follow-ups, you can only find the message if you've had a reply from the person you're talking to.

you're right, it's the same idea. Better explained I'd say.
The right-click method (to answer your question) doesn't work.
And what do you think of this idea?
