hello, i cannot seem to find a solution online, hopefully someone can help.

i often receive emails with images attached, and most of the time people don't resize their images. you can imagine over time this all adds up in the email storage folder total size.

i dont always need to keep a 6mb image, it can be reduced after i am done. (as to be kept for reference)

i would like a method to resize the received emails image attachment, to at least still have a smaller copy for refence, so to not end up with a huge thunderbird email account profile.

preferably a one click solution, or even a routine i can run on the file system, etc.
some way to edit a received email and its attachment in program.

it seems there is no way to save, edit or re-add an image to the message.

im sure this is an issue for many that seems to have no solution?
thanks

I'm not sure this can be done, once the message and been received.

But it is possible to do before sending.  There are two addons https://services.addons.thunderbird.net/En-us/thunderbird/addon/inline-image-resizer/ https://services.addons.thunderbird.net/EN-us/thunderbird/addon/thunderbird-image-compressor/

Perhaps you could persuade one of them to suggest a solution?
