With the ability to move tabs currently in nightly it would also be nice to be able to group tabs the same way chrome does.

I can't believe it's been so long since this feature has been suggested and still nothing. I'm sure it's not an easy feature to implement, but it is the only thing firefox is missing for me.

I would love this! It is one of the few things I felt was missing and keeping me on chrome based browsers.

Hold click and "open tab in group" would be great

Greetings. I registered an account just to thumbs up and reply to this thread. I'm a donator and long time Firefox user (started with Netscape Navigator, then moved to Mozilla browser, Phoenix, then Firefox). I also have extensive experience using Chromium.

While FF is the only browser i use on personal PCs, it's relegated to a secondary browser on my Android phone because of the lack of tab grouping. This missing feature is literally the only reason I'm still using Brave browser. I find Firefox on par or superior in almost every other way, but 30-50 tabs open at any given time is not feasible without some basic ways to organize them. I am not a fan of how Firefox Android organizes tabs at all, and this may be an area where they look at how other browsers do it.

Just want to add my voice - agree completely with @randomname . I find myself still using chrome on android due to the superior tab management. Really hope Firefox for android can add this functionality so I can switch over completely.

@Jon Any update on this? It's a shame that it isn't implemented yet.

With users switching away from Chrome as Google forces manifest 3 on them this would have been a terrific way to ease everyone into the Firefox fold.

It's the best feature chrome added the last year's. Definitely need this in Firefox!

Every comment on Google Play was met with the same “submit your idea at connect.mozilla.org” reply, but here we are. I really hope they look into this. If they do, I just hope they go the simple hold, drag, and create folders route as opposed to some other way.

Just adding to this list of users—went through all the steps of switching over my accounts to FireFox, only to ultimately determine to stick with Chrome for the time being due to the lack of this feature. I have too many tabs I want to have open to scroll through them all and hunt for the group I'm looking for.

Bruh... Are there devs even developing the Android version? How tf can something take 3 years and still not get implemented? @Jon please give me some good news, i have been following this thread for years now.

Just saying hi to all of the folks following this thread. It feels like being on such a disappointing yet strangely epic journey. Every few days some poor soul adds their voice to the plaintive horde. Another plea to @Jon to hear our cries rings out, not realising he's had this thread on mute for years now.

But still we call out because there's blood in these fingers and it's all we know what to do. One day this will be fixed and all of this will be forgotten but I'll be proud to have been part of a mass movement of shouting into the uncaring void. Pixels gathered from across the planet joined with one voice. Heard by no-one but themselves. Is that not enough? No, I just want to be able to group my tabs please.

At least can you comment on this topic. All other browsers on android have this feature. How can you skip this and expect to compete with them.
