A lot of dns resolvers support RFC 8914 Extended DNS Errors nowadays.
If a domain resolution fails Mozilla products like Firefox and Thunderbird should make use of this extended error feature to tell the user precisely what is going on.
"resolution failed" usually does not help much, as you have no idea what is going on.
If people know that the host in question is filtered, blocked, censored or just has dnssec misconfigured, they can act accordingly.
