Google Chrome and Safari browser have live captioning feature to enable deaf and hard of hearing people like myself to follow the dialogues on the video. Live Captioning will caption the video automatically if the audio of any voice is detected just like dragon speaking software. Firefox should include that feature to increase availability of the accessibility features packed in the browser.

AgentVirtuel - A Screen Reader does not provide live captioning for content. That's not applicable here.
We need accessibility for hearing-impaired users; not visually-impaired (as a screen reader would assist)

I use Chrome for live captioning. I've switched to Ubuntu, so I'd like to stick with Firefox but it is a major dealbreaker when there is no live captioning. Please consider this a higher priority.

I hope Live caption on iPad iPhone Firefox  for language learning. It’ll be convenient on any web videos without subtitles.

I see that the comments here about the desirability of live captioning in the Firefox browser date back to 2022 and 2023.  Has this idea been adopted in Firefox yet?  I don't want to use Chrome to get it on my Windows 10 PC.  I am hard of hearing and I've been accessing some videos where I cannot get captioning.  The originators of the videos say I have to use Chrome or my iPhone or iPad.  But, in order to see the screenshots well, I need a large screen and I do not have a Mac; only my Windows 10 PC has a large screen.  And I use Firefox on the Windows PC, but the videos cannot provide live captioning.  From the comments here, it seems that there are many Firefox users who don't want to turn to Chrome to get this.  Get with it, Firefox!!

I've been waiting for this feature on firefox browser ever since I stumbled upon this feature on chrome.. I'm a hard of hearing person myself and it helps immensely whenever I watch twitch streams.

Seriously?  I cannot believe this is even a thing in this day and age.  How can a major browser like Firefox not have captions available if a website doesn't offer them or have them embedded? Deaf and hard of hearing people such as myself should not be staring at something like a live weather video looking for important information but have no earthly idea what is being said because the broadcaster forgot to turn the captions button on.  Effective, huh?  Certainly Firefox/Mozilla makes enough money to have a tiny department devoted to making sure everyone can access content.  Please stop being greedy poopyheads and catch up with this century. That's my vote.  Take it as you will.

My recommendations for live captioning (that can work with Firefox) until it's added to Firefox:

Windows 11: Has built in Live Captions under Accessibility Settings

Linux: https://github.com/abb128/LiveCaptions

I have used both of these with good results
