Keep passwords hidden until needed

Most of the time I use Firefox I am not needing a password to get into a site; however, the master password pop-up shows up every time I start Firefox (annoying to say the least). Why not add a little intellegence into that and require needing to fill in the master password  pop-up only when there is actually a need to enter a saved password. Would make booting up Firefox cleaner ...

@donclarke  thank you for reminding us about this issue. Most likely this is related to pinned tabs as described in Bug 1700647. Do you have a pinned tab in your browser?

Another possibility:

The dialog will appear when Firefox feels the urge to make an initial connection to your Firefox Account for Sync. This may be deferred briefly while tabs load (if you restore your previous session).
