A light version of firefox, for workstation use, at industrial level. Low resource usage, fast javascript engine. Usable in graphical and command line environment. And also portable. And can open at least fifty tabs. And that natively has the AWK and SED tools.
what ever changes have been made it is causing web sites to not load or take 5 times as long as chrome. it would be nice if firefox was not such a slow poke that it has become. today the eversource web site WOULD NOT LOAD in fire fox but had no issues in chrome., the issue must be your feed through servers,
while all of you are trying to add everything possible to firefox their are some of us that actually have things to do on the internet.
so how about a second version of firefox that actually works,
call it firefox lite and it could be a stand alone web browser that browses the internet, instead of just sitting their not responding to servers and not opening web sites.
since the issue is with firefox, not every web site, since when firefox will not work with multiple websites that issue is not every web site, it is firefox.
I use DDG browser for social media with over hundred tabs open in the background and only few sites here, yet the space, cache here goes above 1 gb while only couple hundred on DuckDuck browser how come - extension cant be taking up that much space - have to go to setting and manually clear it time to time.
It doesn't matter...with each version and update of Firefox, it gets worse and worse in terms of performance and speed, unfortunately.
I suggest that an ultra light version of the browser be launched, which occupies only one instance of the computer's memory. No more crashes and instances.
I am a LOT frustrated with Firefox browser - both android and desktop, at this point in time and it is because it is heavy laden like Microsoft and why I use Firefox for years was because it was fast - easy going. My idea is that it be lighter and faster as it was supposed to be for the users and not lagging and slow like Microsoft was when it first came out. Please whoever can - consider this idea. So sad user here and trying to avoid going to try find a browser to give the love I have always had for Firefox - when it was fast/young and not slow/old like it is now/today.
