Home button on iOS should open new tab

On mobile, it doesn’t make sense to have a home button if you don’t use the features of a home page. It also doesn’t make sense for it to open the home page in the current tab.

I would love to have the option to have to either swap the Home button for a New Tab button (why should it take two taps?!?), or add an option to, when tapping the Home icon, to open it in a new tab.

After installing, navigating to one site, then trying to quickly open a new tab, looking up what quick new tab setting I missed was the next thing I immediately did. To my disappointment, I guess opening a new tab really does require two clicks. Very odd and unwelcome, especially on mobile. Please pay attention to this issue.

I would love to see a way to customize the icon on the toolbar for Firefox on iOS. For example I would love to replace the home icon with a + icon to open a new tab or a share button.

+1. I was looking to ditch Chrome on iOS and ended up on Brave just because of the tab button being inaccessible. If it has to be a Home button, then at least just make it open the Home page on a new tab!

+1 this really is a game changer… accidentally clicking your page away is not fun.

Please please please do this, or at least make that button have customizable behavior. It’s terrible that pressing the home button just acts as a bookmark to the homepage instead of creating a new tab.
