Firefox managed to bring HDR to Macs in 100.0 version. Now it's time for Windows!

It'd be awesome to watch and work on HDR images and videos using Firefox in 2022. Windows is the most popular OS, why not bring HDR here too?
More monitors and devices running on Windows support HDR, so there is an increase in demand of HDR support in Firefox.

The only option for Windows users is either to switch to another browser or to download and use a dedicated app from Microsoft Store.

It's really a shame still no HDR support in 2024

There is a bug report open now specific for Windows, but i agree it be nice to see HDR support this year.

Should not be that hard to add if Mac already supports it just make it main priority and add it for Windows, and follow up on Linux as soon as that is possible as well.

There no need for Windows users to have to wait much longer, as a HDR user i would instantly hop to beta build to test it and share any feedback making sure it releases without any bugs.

It's 2024, so why doesn't Firefox support HDR yet? HDR videos on YouTube are becoming more and more common. How much longer do we have to lag behind Chrome? I really don't want to see Google dominating the browser market like this. Please provide HDR support.

I gave up. I ditched FF just because of this. Seems like Mozilla has no interest in adding support. The browser is dead with the google ruling and they know it.

We might get GTA VI before Firefox support of HDR on Windows

How has this not been implemented yet?

They added it for mac, and they added RTX HDR video before adding actual HDR support to Windows, i am depressed now, actually feels like feedback is being ignored, its the worst feeling ever.

honestly @ChristianB being that firefox is open sourced, it should have been implemented a long time ago. so i guess people that are working on it have no knowledge on how to implement it or they just dont do it. who knows.

honestly being how firefox and nvidia are working together to get video upscaling tech for videos and other things into the browser but dont support HDR is just nuts to me.

I was setting up my new HDR monitor today, and thought something was wrong with it as HDR content did not display on FF Youtube. After a bit of googling, found out that it's not the monitor. I love FF, please, add in the HDR support ASAP. I understand there's a lot of struggle, but just expressing my voice to say - this is what we want!

I first thought I was doing something wrong, every other major browser has HDR. My main one (firefox) isn't supporting it. Come to see it came to even other operating systems, on firefox, years ago. What exactly is the hold up on support honestly?
