Group by Sort collapses on restart

In Thunderbird, when using the "Group By Sort" feature to organize emails by time periods such as Today, Yesterday, Last 14 Days, and Older,  these groups collapse upon restarting the application.

I like to keep today and sometimes yesterday expanded. However i restart my pc numerous times during the day and when i restart Thunderbird the days I left expanded are collapsed once again.

Could not find an add-on or anyother solution to this so hopefully it can get on the list of features to consider.

Expanding the first "group by sort" groups be default should definitely be implemented!

It is really annoying to open up the app and having to click on the tiny chevron icon to expand the emails of the day. 

Please add this option.
