get Google Drive images

To my surprise, a friend put a hundred photos to share with group members in Google Drive, and while I could view them, Google said that my browser could not cut and paste images, solely text, so I couldn't get them on my computer. I know - Google snarkily announces that their Chrome browser does to get me to switch. And yes, I can copy screen then get it by cropping. But if there's a way that Google won't shortcircuit to copy/paste images, it would be great.

Can't you just download them? There should be a download button somewhere I think...
