I'm surprised that Firefox Translate includes Bulgarian but not Russian in its list of available languages. It seems to me that the latter language is far more important.

I just used Firefox Translate to translate a simple passage from English to Russian. It's still in beta, but it worked!

@Desemin Firefox Release (currently 128) we only have Russian to English. In Firefox Nightly we also have English to Russian.

We are currently training higher quality Russian models. Once they are ready, we will deploy them to both Firefox Release and Firefox Nightly.

Really? I have Firefox v 128.0, and it just translated "The cat sat on the mat" to "Кошка сидела на коврике."

@drjlevi6that's curious, en->ru should not be available (unless you enabled some hidden configs to use pre-release models). Anyway, it should be available soon for everybody (and it will be better than the current one).

Quick update - support for Russian translations is available in Firefox Nightly. We are still working to get it ready for release in Firefox and will update you all here when that happens. Thanks for the ongoing feedback and patience 🙌

I'm using Firefox Portable (131), the translator is active, Russian is the 2nd language, translator functions but does have a glitch, I go into a Russian website & when the translator translates to English the entire webpage is upset. Very little of the webpages layout is undisturbed.

What's causing this to happen?

Here is what the site should look like (translator off)

this is what the translator does to the page

I'm using Firefox portable 131, the translator is included with this version, I make use of it to translate Russian to English. The translator function but it is not doing so cleanly. A website I go into is being completely upset when the translator is active, the webpage is completely disarranged, turn off the translator & the webpage returns to normal. What's causing this?

I've been informed that this translator is *Google* supplied...

from the end users point of view...who does one report any bugs to?

I'm not a Google user, I'm a Firefox user

Thanks for the report @55trucker1. Unfortunately the bug is difficult to reproduce for us because the website requires an account. Do you see the same bug on a page of the site that doesn't require login?

The translator is not Google supplied, it is built by us.

Well this is somewhat odd,

try this....open the webpage https://bluebird-hd.org/....at the top of the main header directory are 4 submenus, the 3rd from left is *rules* page, in Russian that would be seen as  *правила*, one does not have to sign-in to see these

if you open that page & apply the translator there is no upset in the page layout.

Yes, I can see that page works well. Is there another page that doesn't require login and doesn't work well when translating?

Marco:

there doesn't appear to be, one HAS to log in to see the translator result

Not sure what the issue is here on this particular site Marco....here's a link to the BBC Russian site, there is no upset of the page layout at all.......
