Firefox isn't with useful tool, which is tabs suspender, it saves of much hardware consume and doesn't allow your PC stay slowness and/or your own internet, because tabs can consume internet and recourses in background without you use it, so that's important and should be in all popular browsers including Firefox. I recommend they base on auto tab discard and possibly performance tool (by Microsoft Edge), because auto tab discard extension is really complete and very useful, mainly it saves where you stop on certain time video and performance tool saves much your recourses on your computer and is very efficient:

Allow suspend and/or offline a specific tab

It would be helpful to potentially free up resources by allowing someone to suspend processes associated with a specific tab or even offline that tab.

It would be awesome if the Firefox browser also has the feature "Sleeping Tag" as that in Microsoft Edge, which is extremely desirable for me when using Firefox to open and keep a large number of browsing tags. "With sleeping tabs in Microsoft Edge, inactive tabs go to sleep after the amount of time you choose, freeing up CPU and memory to help make your PC faster." I hope the Firefox team considers developing this for the next release. Thanks!

Should be the built-in feature because after upgrading to Fission, Firefox uses a lot more memory and people are complaining about that, yeah Auto Tab Discard fixes this problem but the addon can't even unload some specific sites like addons.mozilla.org.. And UnloadTabOnLowMemory doesn't even work.

Thank you Firefox developpers 🙂

Due to the way I use to work : one subject = one window, I'd like to manage tab suspending at this level.

I'd like being able to restore the last closed Window too !

Ya. I'm agree with you. By the way. Since Google Chrome 108 already introduced "Memory Saver" and "Energy Saver" to all Google Chrome users. I hope next major Firefox release already implement this features natively without need addons such as "Auto Tab Discards". In My Opinion too many extension is inefficient for RAM Usage.

I really like Firefox.  My main desire is that it is more performant, that is, uses less ram.  Seems fine on CPU.

If Firefox could implement this feature similar to what Microsoft Edge has, it would be perfect.

Actually I like Edge more due to vertical tabs and their memory saver feature with it's time customization, I only switched to Firefox because Microsoft made it very hard to uninstall Edge, and I don't like to feel that I don't have control over my device!

Just noticed a bug with Auto Tab Discard, it will sleep your tab even if you're watching a vid picture-in-picture.

So hopefully a native feature will be a bit better at this!

Firefox 102.15.1esr is using too much RAM, which makes it very very slow, until it crashes and I lose all my work. Is it possible to limit RAM usage to 6GB of RAM, and once we hit 6GB firefox can start unloading tabs?
