Firefox should suspend tabs to better performance

Firefox isn't with useful tool, which is tabs suspender, it saves of much hardware consume and doesn't allow your PC stay slowness and/or your own internet, because tabs can consume internet and recourses in background without you use it, so that's important and should be in all popular browsers including Firefox. I recommend they base on auto tab discard and possibly performance tool (by Microsoft Edge), because auto tab discard extension is really complete and very useful, mainly it saves where you stop on certain time video and performance tool saves much your recourses on your computer and is very efficient:

I'd prefer a way to disable it per tab though. Sometimes I just need a tab to stay alive in the background

Researchers who use Firefox need to be able to retrace Tabs and the history of each Tab.  If tabs automatically expired, it could cause a disaster.  If this suggestion were to be implemented, there should be an option to turn it off for those of us with plenty of memory and robust CPUs.  Placing the tabs in a sleep mode in the background is okay as long as the tabs and their history are easy to bring back.

I used to use Microsoft Edge instead of Firefox for this reason. I think all browsers should have this feature.

Lower memory usage

Could it be possible that open tabs do are not actively consuming memory on systems? I am in need to open extensive number of tabs on firefox (50+) for data mining and reference checking, and find my system utilizing on average 6Gb of ram or more, and this slows down anything else I am doing on my computer, could it be possible that tabs that are inactive are not loading the system's ram?

I think the best way around this is if firefox automatically suspended tabs after a certain time threshold eg: 6hrs/ 24hrs
