The main reason I still use Safari on iOS / iPadOS is that there are good ad-blocking options available to Safari but not to Firefox.

Firefox Focus seems to have a capable ad-blocker included, but this is not available for the standard Firefox app to use.

It would be great if Firefox included an option to use the Firefox Focus ad-blocker in its settings.

what it needs is actually to be rebuilt as a non webkit browser now that EU regulations allow it in the EU, so that the millions of privacy-concious European users can benefit from it and eventually be used to force the hand of apple to allow non webkit based mobile browser worldwide.

Merci,

Pierre

On my iPhone, I have to use Brave because Firefox is unable to block ads.

I know that Apple's restrictions prevent extensions such as AdGuard for example. But, why doesn't Firefox do like Brave, by coding an anti-ad into its operation without having to download an extension?

Thank you

Mullvad Browser has uBlock Origin added.  Maybe Mozilla Firefox could consider a browser for iPhone users with uBlock Origin already added. I took a screenshot of Mullvad Browser with uBlock Origin indicated. I can't attach the screenshot here.

I'm honestly surprised blocking ads isn't already a thing on iOS Firefox. I'm switching away from Brave due to a recent update to chromium removing a feature I use often at the moment and Firefox works great on all my devices except my iPad. I use it mainly to watch Youtube videos and find it unusable without an adblocker. However, there's no real way to FULLY block ads on the site using vanilla Firefox. I really wanted to take advantage of the sync capability with my phone and computer, but I guess my iPad will just have to stay on Brave for now until they add this basic feature... Really disappointed... (๑¯ํ ᎔ ¯ํ๑)

Other browsers like Brave or Orion are able to integrate adblockers - why Firefox is not able to? Many years this is a most wantet feature for Firefox for iOS but nothing happens.

Surprised this is not already a feature. Unfortunately driving me back to Safari.

I was intending to do a full swap back to Firefox after a few years away especially with it being one of the most performant browsers on my Linux laptop, but after just a few days of using the iOS app I’m not entirely sure it’s worth it given the lack of ad block. I might end up back just using Vivaldi or Safari at this point.
I understand that apple’s restrictive policies slow you down but even Vivaldi has a baked in ad blocker that you can easily toggle on and off.

We desperately need all of the desktop ad blockers for FF mobile!

I 100% agree, and I really hope this becomes a feature. The lack of adblockers makes using firefox on my phone just not a good option.

The way brave implements blocklists would be a great starting point, having the ability to tailor lists to fit users needs would be a major upgrade to the current browsing experience.

Right thanks. I have no problems at all with Firefox the way it is now. I use browser extensions with extremely low CPU usage to block ads on every website especially YouTube. Brave has a lot of bad reviews on reddit.
