Recent versions of Firefox introduced a "customize" menu for new tabs (bottom-right corner) with an option to select the new tab's background wallpaper. I quite like this feature and have been using it regularly.

However, currently the selected wallpaper is global across Firefox themes, this means that the user is only able to select one wallpaper that applies across all themes. It would be better if the wallpaper selection were linked to the current theme so that when the Firefox theme is switch it remembers what the (last) wallpaper selection for that theme was.

This would be especially helpful when the Firefox theme is linked to the system theme and thus subject to frequent changes, creating a jarring visual/aesthetic effect since a wallpaper that looks nice on the light theme is unlikely to do so on the dark theme and vice-versa.

I have attached a before/after example of what it looks like when my Firefox theme switches to light/dark mode following the system theme.
