I would like to suggest to make the Eyedropper tool more accessible, either as a keyboard shortcut or as a pinnable tool on the customizable tool bar.

Currently, you'd have to access it via App Menu -> More Tools -> Eyedropper or via Address Bar -> type "pick color" -> Select Pick Color Action.

Although the recently added new way is neat, it's not practical enough, especially if done in repetition.

Add a Keyboard Shortcut for Firefox Eyedropper

I’m a web designer, and I frequently need to pick the exact color code from websites while working on designs. I’ve used several third-party browser extensions and online color picker tools for this, but Firefox’s built-in Eyedropper is honestly one of the best and most accurate options I’ve used.

The only thing that feels missing is a quick way to access it. Currently, I have to open More Tools and then find the Eyedropper option, which adds a few extra steps to a task I often repeat.

It would be really helpful to have a keyboard shortcut that instantly activates the Eyedropper. This would make the workflow much faster and smoother, especially for web designers and developers who regularly inspect and pick colors from websites.Firefox already has a great Eyedropper tool  making it instantly accessible would make it even more useful.

@bibar we recently released a feature to make it easier to access the eyedropper tool:

Quickly pick and copy a color from any page by typing "pick color", "color picker", or "eyedropper" in the address bar and selecting the "Pick a color" quick action.

It's not exactly what you're requesting here, but may be a temporary solution while we explore implementing a shortcut or adding it as a customizable toolbar option.

Thanks, @Jon , The new quick action is definitely a helpful addition.

I still feel that having a dedicated shortcut or a customizable toolbar option would make the Eyedropper even easier to access for everyone, especially designers and developers who use it frequently. It would make the feature feel much more seamless in everyday workflows.

Thanks for the answer, @Jon !
I'd like to mention that I agree with @Ragul and affirm that, as an user, a shortcut (or the option to select it from the toolbar) would feel great for this tool.

Best Regards 🙂
