Status: New idea

I am very wary of rogue apps spoofing the popup for my Firefox password. Occasionally FF prompts me when I have already had the app open for some time. Would it be possible to show why we are being asked for the password and which page or request triggered it so that we can validate it as genuine?

Thanks

That’s an excellent security-focused idea. Showing a brief note like “Firefox is requesting your primary password to unlock saved logins for <site/app>” would help users confirm the prompt is legitimate and reduce the risk of spoofing. A small “details” link could show which page or action triggered it. Definitely worth filing as a feature request in Bugzilla so the Firefox security team can review it.
